St. Croix is the "big" Island of the three US Virgin Islands. Most of the photos above are of Buck Island. Buck Island is a small island that can be seen very well from our home, Bougainvilla. Bougainvilla sits on the hill along East End Road that runs along the North Shore of St. Croix. Buck Island is a national park and has been written up in National Geographic as one of the most beautiful beaches in the United States. In addition, it has one of the longest living coral reefs in the United States. The reef has trails and is maintained by the National Park Service. Sammy the Sting Ray, Turtles and Dolphins visit the boaters, swimmers and snorkelers of Buck Island.
